Welcome to Cafe Mef: A Mediterranean Gem in Chill Factore

Nestled within the vibrant Chill Factore, Cafe Mef is a delightful Mediterranean-Italian eatery that beckons both skiers and food enthusiasts alike. If you're seeking a casual dining experience without sacrificing flavor, this is the place for you. The restaurant’s address at 7 Trafford Way, Trafford M41 7JA, places it conveniently for a post-slope meal. Reservations are welcomed, ensuring you’ll have a seat ready, especially on busy days.

Upon entering Cafe Mef, you might find the décor a touch unconventional. Customer reviews have described the interior as featuring black and chrome elements, giving it a modern yet somewhat industrial feel. Yet, it’s this casual ambiance that perfectly complements its purpose—a quick yet satisfying meal after a day on the slopes. Ideal for groups and families, the restaurant offers outdoor seating, making it a pleasant choice on sunny days.

  • Culinary Highlights: Cafe Mef features an enticing menu, showcasing the best of Mediterranean and Italian cuisine. Don't miss the Linguini Piccanti, a delightful dish served with a rich tomato sauce that is both spicy and comforting. For those craving something unique, the Risotto Bolognese offers a creative twist that is perfect for adventurous palates.
  • Affordability: One of the standout offerings at Cafe Mef is their £10 three-course menu, making it an exceptional choice for value without compromising taste.
  • Comfort and Convenience: Whether you’re dressed in cozy skiwear or casual clothes, the laid-back atmosphere welcomes all. The family-friendly environment and the full bar add to the relaxed vibe, perfect for winding down after an exhilarating day outside.

Though some guests have noted that service can be slow at times, the generous portions and the overall experience more than compensate for any delays. As a food reviewer, I find it hard to resist the allure of a cold draught Peroni while savoring the rich flavors of the dishes prepared here.

In conclusion, Cafe Mef stands out as a must-visit dining destination in Chill Factore. With its flavorful Mediterranean offerings and family-friendly environment, it promises to satiate the hunger of both casual diners and dedicated foodies alike. Cafe Mef is the latest addition to the Chill Factore restaurants, and in my opinion a welcome one. Okay, the design of the restaurant isn't quite to my liking - there's far too much black and chrome going on which gives the place a rather jarring feel despite the accents of crimson and the main room looks more like a college refectory, tables up tables lined up next to each other. But all that pales into insignificance to a hungry post-skier or snowboarder looking for a cheap and filling bite after a couple of hours on the slopes, and who's looking for glamour anyway in the Chill Factore? The menu has some wonderful Italian dishes including my personal favourites, Linguini Piccanti (Linguini in rich tomato sauce with mushrooms, sweet peppers, onions, garlic & fresh chilli) and the more unusual Risotto Bolognese (risotto with, you guessed it, Bolognese sauce) both around £6-7. The real draw here though are the £10 3-course menus and for me the Peroni on draught! Service can sometimes be slow but the generous portions and price more than make up for it.
